Eye health is a public health issue that impacts individuals across all sectors of life. The eye health challenges faced by Africans are peculiar to the African population and require unique interventions. An estimated 110 million Africans are visually impaired with about 90% of this vision loss avoidable or treatable. The integration of Eye Care into the Primary Health Care system is highly recommended. A comprehensive integrated approach is required to reduce the burden of eye care in the African continent because Eye Health is indeed a Human Right.
